2015年海外製作によるビートルズ、レア・コンピレーション『ジョン・バレット・マスター・コレクション』が、限定プレス5CD+1DVD仕様にてここに。
数多くのスタジオ・セッション音源の大元となった『ロジャー・スコット・マスター・コレクション』に続き、ついにその源流である『ジョン・バレット・マスター・コレクション』が登場。まずこれまで”ジョン・バレット・テープス”として知られてきた音源は、様々な仕様があった中、その多くは不完全であったり、無関係な音源が追加されてきたのが現状。
そんな中で今回のコンピレーションは、100%ピュアなジョン・バレット音源を完全コンパイルしたうえ、貴重な関連音源を追加収録。また未発表アルバム「ゲット・バック」＋セッションや、ソロ・コンピレーション、さらに本来映像が元である「アット・アビー・ロード・スタジオ」を別セットとさせることで、ビギナーにもわかりやすい形で再編集したもの。
よって質量共にかつてない完璧な内容であり、しかも映像版「アット・アビー・ロード・スタジオ」は、1983年に公開されて以来、ＴＶオンエアーもなかったため、オリジナル映像は当時のビデオ・コピーしか存在しないながら、今回はそのオリジナル映像版に加え、2015年の最新映像コンピレーションをメインに収録。オリジナルに比べて、より内容も改良され、もちろんクオリティーも格段にアップデートされた映像に生まれ変わった最新版は必見。『ロジャー・スコット・マスター・コレクション』と合わせて、ビートルズ・セッション音源のベーシック・コレクションはこれで完璧といえる、ファン必携コレクターズ・エディション。
