MSG / Keep On Rockin’ Japan : Back in Japan 2022 (プレス6CD+1Blu-ray)
来日公演関連で名高いXAVELレーベルより、キャリア50周年も兼ねた2022年11月の来日3公演すべてを、ステレオ・サウンドボード・レベルのマルチ・ステレオIEMマトリクスにていずれもフル収録したタイトルが、日本語帯付き、プレス6CD仕様の限定セットで。
まず同レーベルから既リリースされている全3公演のマルチIEMマトリクス音源に、さらにマスタリング処理など最新機材を用いたプロユース編集とIEM特有のクリックやガイドも除去することで、カンペキなステレオ・サウンドボード・ライブにて全日の模様を再現し、加えて今回のリリースでは、全ての公演前に行われたサウンド・チェックも追加収録。
そしてこの先のワールド・ツアーではロニー・ロメロとロビン・マッコーリーが公演地によってフロントを務めるという変則的なシフトだったのが、このジャパン・ツアーではロニー・ロメロが帯同となり、UFOからMSGまで全編にわたり見事に曲にフィットしたボーカルを披露。
そしてUFOナンバーが8曲とセットのほぼ半分を占め、近年の「We Are The Voice」、「Sail The Darkness」、「Emergency」も含むMSGナンバーが9曲と、まさにマイケルのキャリア総括と言えるセット内容であり、またそのプレイも全編キレキレなうえ、ロニー・ロメロのボーカルがまた素晴らしく、特に「Assault Attack」はグラハム以上に歌いこなした感もあり、そのあたりも含めた全3公演、ファン必聴の来日メモリアル・アイテム。
さらに初回限定100セットのみ、、初日となった11月21日東京・中野サンプラザでのライブを、2台のデジタル・カメラをミックスしたHDクオリティーの良好オーディエンス映像にてフル収録したブルーレイを付属で。
この映像も同レーベルから先にリリースされたステージ左サイドからのクローズ・ショットをベースに、新たに至近距離からの映像ソースも用いてマルチ・カメラ・ミックス仕様としており、パートによってはプロショット感覚で観れるうえ、音声パートも本編CDのマトリクス音源をシンクロさせているため、今回の来日関連映像ではベストであることを断言。
